Bangor Shelter: St. Joseph Healthcare is Volunteer Organization of the Year

On Tuesday, September 18, St. Joseph Healthcare received the annual Volunteer Organization of the Year award from the Bangor Area Homeless Shelter.
The award is in recognition of the Hospital’s heartfelt and significant continuing support of the Shelter and those who need its services. St. Joseph Healthcare regularly donates meals and laundry service to the Shelter. People experiencing homelessness are able to sleep on clean sheets, eat nutritious meals and feel a sense of worth and inclusion due to the hospital’s generosity.

The Bangor Area Homeless Shelter is a facility open 365 days a year, providing both overnight shelter as well as a day program. The Shelter provides emergency, short-term shelter to homeless people aged 18 and above.
